The Črni Vrh Plateau is famous for winter sports, especially the Trnovo Marathon. Year round, it offers numerous possibilities to spend active time in nature and learn about the natural and cultural heritage of the area. On the north, it rises steeply above the Idrijca River Valley; on the South, it is surrounded by steep peaks that offer amazing views onto the Adriatic Sea and Mt. Triglav.
The trail across the panoramic summits of Črni Vrh is one od the marked hiking trails that will offer amazing vistas on the Adriatic See and Mt. Triglav, if the weather permits. The trail is 9 km long and will take you to panoramic summits of Velika peč (1050 m), Čelkov vrh (1106 m) and Javornik (1240 m), the highest peak in Idrija Municipality.
Welcome to the pristine environment where you can watch the nature and its inhabitants in all seasons of the year. In the winter, you can try and discern the animals that leave footprints in the fresh snow while searching for food, and marvel at the unique artwork made by the hoarfrost on naked tree branches. In the spring, the nature wakes up in all its glory; everything buds, everything comes alive … And makes you replenish your energy, too! In the summer days, you can enjoy in the scent of drying hay and let your face be caressed by sunrays on the way. In the autumn, the nature prepares for the winter rest; colder winds sweep across the land and slowly everything stills.

- Panoramic tower
Since 1972, the summit of Mt. Javornik features a panoramic tower peeking out above the tree tops and offers incredible vistas. When the weather provides, you can see the Dolomites, the Carnic and the Julian Alps, the Karawanks, the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, Mt. Snežnik, the Škofja Loka- and Cerkno Hills, a part of the Ljubljana Basin, Notranjsko Hills, and a part of the Gulf of Trieste.

- Furlan Chapel
Recently renovated, this chapel is named after the Furlan Farm in the vicinity. A folk legend claims that the master of the Furlan Farm had it build in gratitude for surviving the plague. - War Museum

Trail description
Reaching the starting point: From the direction of Ljubljana, drive towards Idrija. When you reach Godovič, take the second eit at the roundabout. The road will take you through a tunnel and after several sharp turns you will reach the Črni Vrh Plateau. From Črni Vrh, continue on the winding road in the direction of Ajdovščina. When the sharp turns end, you will see a macadam road on your left: turn sharply left. Take this macadam road until you reach the first houses on Šajsna Ravan, where you park your car.
Trail description: From the starting point, pass the barrier and continue on the macadam road. You will soon see a wonderful clearing with a pond on your right. Continue on to a crossroads, where you turn right. You will soon reach houses and a hayrack. Continue across the meadow. The road will then turn slightly to the right and into a forest: on the right side of rocks, you will reach the peak of Mt. Velika peč (1050m). The peak offers a beautiful view on the Črni Vrh Plateau and its surroundings. Retrace your steps to the crossroads and follow the signpost in the direction of Čelkov vrh (1106m). From here on, the road will lead to the right and downwards until you reach a macadam road, where you turn left. After one kilometre, you will reach a house; on the other side of the road, there is a garden, where you turn left and enter the forest. The road continues to the signpost for Mt. Javornik and winds steeply upwards until you see the panoramic tower on the top of Mt Javornik (1241m). If you climb the tower, you will be able to enjoy in the view of the beautiful surrounding and the mountains. Continue on through the forest and across two meadows until you reach a mountain hut that offers refreshments. Once you are rested, continue to the right and downwards in the direction of Črni Vrh. You will reach a well-maintained macadam road: turn left and walk along this road until you reach your starting point on Šajsna ravan.
