The ancient village of Ledine is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful villages in Idrija, situated on the Ledine Plateau. Due to its Karst nature, the surface of the Ledine Plateau hides a richness of fossils, as well as numerous caves, abysses, and sinkholes. The vast plateau offers opportunities for a pleasant hike to Sivka (1008 m), Gradišče (998 m), or Mrzli Vrh (987 m). A visit to Mrzli Vrh in early spring, when the crocuses turn the hayfields purple, is particularly special. From here, you can enjoy views of the Škofja Loka and Cerkno hills, the Julian Alps, the Kamnik–Savinja Alps, and the Polhov Gradec hills.
A hundred years ago, the Rapallo borde divided the area between the kingdoms of Italy and the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes ran right across here. The dividing line ran along the watershed between the Black Sea and the Adriatic Sea. It was marked on the ground by numerous landmarks, some of which have survived to the present day.
In the past, people used to live in harmony with nature. Old traditions have been carefully preserved until today: here, you can see a valuable collection of farming equipment, or visit the traditional event of harvesting rye. The two local caterers will welcome you with open hands and offer you home-made and local dishes.

Trail description
Reaching the starting point: You can reach the starting point from the directions of Idrija or Žiri via the Idrija–Žiri road. Approximately in the middle between the two towns, turn towards Ledine at Ledinsko Razpotje. After a good 2 km drive, you reach Pr’ Jureč farm, which is your starting point.
Trail description: A well-maintained asphalt road leads you past the large Jureč hay barn, where you turn towards the village centre. Continue past the Church of St Jacob, past the fire house, and the Ledine Sports Park. At the crossroads, where you can see a branch school, turn left towards Ledinske Krnice. Continue through the hamlet and turn left on the next crossroads to go towards Korita, which you will reach after a good 10-minute dynamic drive. Again, opt for the left road that will ascend steeply and turn into gravel at the last homestead. The road will gradually flatten out and go across meadows and into the forest. You will start seeing markings for Žirovski kolesarski krog (Žiri Cycling Circle), which you will follow. After a good kilometer, the road will bring you to a lonely, but renovated homestead. Here, you will veer sharply right and continue under the slopes of Mrzli Vrh (also called Lancmanova Sivka). The gravel road will turn into asphalt. Continue past the scattered houses of Mrzli Vrh until you reach the crossroads with the main road. Turn left on the main road. novno zamenja asfaltna. Just before the village, keep left in a sharp turn, and you will reach your starting point.
